CALL FOR ENTRIES – WHAT’S NEXT BOOMER BUSINESS SUMMIT MOBILE APPS SHOWCASE
Are you a mobile developer with an exciting application targeted to the large and growing Baby Boomer and Senior market, that represents more than $2 trillion in spending power?
If so, we invite you to enter your application in the Boomer Summit Mobile Apps Showcase. The Showcase will feature innovative mobile apps across several industries such as travel, health and wellness, finance, social media, education, hobbies, entertainment, news, commerce, local, finance, search and social.
A panel of experts in the Baby Boomer space will judge mobile app entries and award prizes to the best entries. Finalists will receive complimentary passes (2 per team) to the What’s Next Boomer Business Summit in Chicago on March 12, 2013. Finalists also receive free exhibit space and the opportunity to showcase their applications to the entire conference. They also will present their app to a panel of influential experts in the baby boomer and mobile industries.
Prizes
The Grand Prize Winner will receive:
- $1,000 cash
- 5 introductions to reporters who cover the age beat
- 5 introductions to Angels and VCs who fund early stage businesses
- 1 hour consultation with 3 CEOs who have taken products to market
- The opportunity to present the app at the summer Silicon Valley Boomer Venture Summit
- Consultation with a key sponsor of What’s Next Boomer Business Summit event such as AARP or United Healthcare
A Runner-up winner will receive:
- 5 introductions to reporters who cover the age beat
- 5 introductions to Angels and VCs who fund early stage businesses
- Consultation with a key sponsor of What’s Next Boomer Business Summit event such as AARP or United Healthcare
All 5 Finalists will receive:
- 2 complimentary passes to the What’s Next Boomer Business Summit

At a minimum, you must have a functioning mobile app prototype you can live demo. Finalists must be present at the What’s Next Boomer Business Summit Conference on March 12, 2012 in Chicago, IL.
Submissions deadline February 28, 2013
Winner Selection Process
Entries will be judged in 2 rounds according to the following criteria:
- Is the concept well-suited for the baby boomer market?
- Is the app differentiated from competitors?
- How large is the addressable market?
- Is the team experienced and qualified?
- What is the product’s overall viability?
- Is the business model sustainable?
First Round
- Submit entries via the What’s Next Boomer Business Summit Mobile Apps Showcase website form by February 28, 2013
- Five finalists will be notified by March 5, 2013
Second Round
- Finalists will present at a keynote session of the conference on March 12
- Presentations (preferably including a demo) will be 5 minutes each with 5-10 minutes of Q&A from a judges panel.
- Judges will select a winner and a runner-up to be announced at the conference.

Additionally, the finalists will present their mobile applications to attendees of the 2013 What’s Next Boomer Business Summit in Chicago, IL. The content of presentations is at the discretion of each contestant.
By entering this contest all contestants indemnify organizers and sponsors of the 2013 What’s Next Boomer Business Summit Mobile Apps Showcase from any liability whatsoever arising out of this contest.
